Types of policy

Critical Illness Cover

Critical illness cover is an important financial safety net. It's designed to to pay out a fixed cash amount if you're diagnosed with one of the critical illnesses covered in the individual insurer's policy.

Critical Illness Cover is designed to pay out in most circumstances including cancer, heart attack, MS and stroke. However because of advances in medicine, not every type of cancer will have a severe impact on your lifestyle if discovered and treated early enough, for example, a cancer needs to have spread or reached a specified severity to be covered.

Income Protection

If you are unable to work due to accident or illness, then Income Protection will pay out a regular income until you are able to return to work or the end of the term of the policy (or shorter term if a lower budget product is chosen).

Think of this as your own private sick pay policy whereby you decided at outset how much cover you have and how long it will pay out for.

By having Income protection, you are taking control of the responsibility from others and ensuring yours and your family's security.

Accident Cover

If you have an accident and suffer one of the injuries covered by the plan, then you will receive a payout according to the policy. This covers any broken bone (except nose), death and hospitalisation. You decide the level of cover and there is no underwriting, so if you have a condition stopping you getting cover elsewhere then this could be the policy for you.
